Roy "Shrimp" Worters joined the Americans in 1928-29 and helped turn the team around.
With a 1.21 goals against average, Roy led the once hapless Amerks into the playoffs. For his efforts, he was awarded the Hart Trophy. In 1930-31, Roy won the Vezina Trophy for being the best goalie. |

Billy Burch 1925-26
Hamilton's Billy Burch scored 20 goals and added 4 assists for a total of 24 points in the 1924-25 season. Billy won the Dr. David Hart Trophy for being the most valuable player in the league.
In the 1925-26 season, the Hamilton Tigers were sold to a group of New York investors and were renamed the New York Americans. In 1926-27 Billy wins the Lady Byng Trophy for being the most gentlemanly player in the league. |
