Doug Weight #32, an American born left winger, played 65 games as a Ranger in the 1992-93 season before being traded to the Edmonton Oilers on March 17. Doug led the Oilers with 74 points in his first season in an Edmonton uniform.
The Edmonton Oiler has won the Zane Feldman Trophy in 1995-96 and the Most Popular Player Award ranking 31st of the 40 top NHL Players list.
In 1997-98, Doug led the Oilers with 70 points for a fifth time, winning himself another Zane Feldman Trophy. The young left winger missed 34 games with a knee injury but still finished 2nd winning his 2nd team Most Popular Award trophy.
In 2000-01, Doug scored his 600th point on December 27. He played his 3rd All Star Game in February during that season.
On July 1, 2001, Doug was traded to the St. Louis Blues.
